1972 Graduated Univ. of MO – Rolla with B.S. in physics
1978 Graduated MIT with Ph.D. in physics
1978 – 1980 (Polaroid no longer exists) Quit for much better salary at Xerox
1980 – 1984 Quit to use my new MBA at another company (Xerox was down sizing)
1984 Graduated Univ. of Rochester, Simon School of Mgmt with MBA (thank you Xerox)
1984 – 1986 (GEI no longer exists) Laid off because company ran out of money
1986 (unemployed; started Sterling Comm. to consult on marketing communications)
1986 – 1987 (Dataproducts no longer exists) Quit because company was moving to CA
1987 – 1994 (DEC no longer exists) Quit because I was tired of the restructuring. DEC was a great company that mistakingly tried to be like IBM
1994 – 1995 Quit for an “unbelievable opportunity” to be president of a company
1995 – 1996 Separated after contract expired; the owner and I didn’t agree how to professionally manage a business
1996 – 1997 Self employed; worked other businesses under this title – very interesting experiences!
Photogen and GBS were operated under BDS:
1997 – 2001 (United Power no longer exists) Company bought by Danaher; laid off with a lot of others when the market collapsed in 2001
2001 – Present (retired from this bullshit)
2005 – 2007 taught calculus, trig. and
algebra at Clover Hill H.S.,
2009 – 2010 taught math at
(the teaching profession has a lot of internal problems to overcome before it can improve; however, teaching kids is a blast if the parents and “professionals” would just let it happen)
2011 – Present: VA licensed teacher (really) at the Math& Science High School at Clover Hill (two preps, five classes: AP Physics C Mech. & E&M, and AP Physics 1);
